Momos are delicious and meaty or veggie-filled dumplings wrapped in a thin dough and steamed. Follow this authentic Nepali momo recipe for chicken or vegetable momos!

cabbage, shredded (for vegetable momos)

carrots, grated

mushrooms, finely chopped
½ cup
paneer (optional)

sesame oil
Step 1
Prepare the dough by mixing flour, salt, and water. Knead until smooth and elastic. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Prepare the filling. For chicken momos, combine ground chicken, onion, garlic, ginger, cabbage, cilantro, momo masala, black pepper, salt, soy sauce, and oil. For vegetable momos, mix cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, paneer, sesame oil, and seasonings.
Step 3
Divide the dough into small balls and roll them into thin discs (about 3 inches in diameter). Add a spoonful of filling in the center, pleat the edges, and seal the dumplings.
Step 4
Grease a steamer basket lightly and arrange the momos with some space in between. Steam for 10-12 minutes until the wrappers are slightly translucent and the filling is cooked through.
Step 5
